Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

Here are some pictures of the chicks I ordered last week.

Fluffy puffy chicky butts.

Lining them up for the shot.

And strike a pose!

Mystery Chick--Looks like a blue cochin.

Another mystery chick--anyone have any ideas?

My two Ameraucanas, Yin and Yang.

Mystery chick--any ideas?

Another mystery chick. Ideas?

A mutt chick from the batch I hatched out last week. She invited herself along for the photo shoot, then photo bombed the other chicks while we were taking pictures of them. Apparently she's not a chicken--she's a ham.

Unfortunately, I lost nearly half of the chicks I ordered. 4 were DOA, one died shortly after arriving, and another just passed last night from health problems she'd had since I got her. I lost both of the black copper marans I'd ordered AND my silkie, so I'm kind of frustrated about the whole thing.

Congratulations!

what did they say about these when you bought them? I bought 3 they called *assorted Brown egg layers* and I just picked 3 different colors hoping for 3 different chickens. I love the idea of mystery. :-)

And BTW your chicks are cute!

I think one of your brown chicks is a Brown Leghorn. He/she looks just like my baby Brown Leghorn with that dorsal stripe like a baby squirrel. Too cute!

Could the 3rd mystery chick be a speckled Sussex?

I was thinking that too or a speckled Sussex. A leghorn would be awesome.

Pics from September. These are two speckled sussex and a welsummer chick (But don't ask me which is which!) that I got last fall. The one I posted as a Mystery chick has much deeper brown and a strikingly white chest compared to the sussex chicks I've had in the past. Not going to say it's not possible that it IS a sussex, I'm just not sure. I also have another chick that we apparently neglected to photograph who looks like she could very possibly be a sussex--she's the striking image of the two chicks below.
