The rescue chick is the brown one encouraging others to hatch. 2 pips and a black one hatching due tomorrow.

New batch!!! Had 3 naked necks in this batch. Got 23 out of 24 eggs! This is the ones I could not remember when were set.

Our first hatch! 1st hatched is a buff orpington, 2nd was the yellow with brown stripes and 3rd is the cutest little black/yellow chick. There are 2 more eggs...but my hope for them is starting to dwindle. I was expecting these to be all Buff babies, but it seems my black mixed hen slipped a few of her eggs into the mix! Oh well they are super cute!

Chick is out and turning a lovely shade of blue. blue egg under grey chick is zipping...

Here are those 3 after the chick below hatched They are in a basket in the same brooder pen as 5 (by 4 days)older birds. they can talk this way with out getting beat up. when they are dry and walking I will blend the 2 groups. Their names are Bluebelle, Nancy whom I saved from the cold earlier, and the dark one is Jessie.

2 more hatched last night..Rhonda and Remus.
last 4 eggs all have pips. Mom hen is sitting on 3 eggs from incubator due on Sat.

Yes an they love the shavings. No wire under their feet now. These orpingtons are really friendly. Havent lost any yet.they under 4 layers of protection

Newest chick is RIR mix. momma hen is still on other eggs.I have been transfering the eggs from my incubator to her once they are in the air cell. She gives them the extra will to hatch.
