Yes an they love the shavings. No wire under their feet now. These orpingtons are really friendly. Havent lost any yet.they under 4 layers of protection
Cute, congrats!Our first hatch! 1st hatched is a buff orpington, 2nd was the yellow with brown stripes and 3rd is the cutest little black/yellow chick. There are 2 more eggs...but my hope for them is starting to dwindle. I was expecting these to be all Buff babies, but it seems my black mixed hen slipped a few of her eggs into the mix! Oh well they are super cute!

Chick is out and turning a lovely shade of blue. blue egg under grey chick is zipping...
Here are those 3 after the chick below hatched They are in a basket in the same brooder pen as 5 (by 4 days)older birds. they can talk this way with out getting beat up. when they are dry and walking I will blend the 2 groups. Their names are Bluebelle, Nancy whom I saved from the cold earlier, and the dark one is Jessie.
