My new Meyer hatchery babies, I ordered 3 SLW 1 was doa, 3 wellsummer, 3 exchequer leghorn, 3 australorp, and 3 BR along with 10 straight run late bloomers not sure what I got but it does look like I got a possible male CCL anad a black copper marans, as for the rest I'll just have to wait and see unless any of you want to venture a guess

Here are my current babies. Silkies, NH Red, Buff Orpington, Black Austerlop, Dominque and lots of Easter Eggers. They were freaked out when I filled their feed dish so ran into the corner and cowered

My 4 week-old quail chicks do the same thing every time I lift the lid (Oh, crap! Here she comes-RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

LOL, I give them food and water....why don't they like me? When I got my first chicks - I had 6. They eventually got so they didn't FEAR me. Next batch - 12. Herd mentality, they never liked me when they were chicks. Once the chickens start laying, they become more docile. They let me pick them up and don't freak out. Much easier. But as babies, forget it!!
