This is my first go with chicks but based on mine I would definitely say those look like RIRs almost identical to mine. I have them in a small brooder so I switched to a premier heating plate instead of a heat lamp the love it

My first chicks! 4 brown Leghorn, 2 Ancona, 1 blue Hamburg, 1 EE. I plan on free ranging (without a rooster!), so I went with lightweight, alert, and flighty breeds. Wish me luck!

I love this thread! All of the babies are so adorable. I'm such a sucker for them. I have 7 mature hens who just turned a year old. I was going to get 3 new chicks to round out my flock, but somehow I have 10 babies! 4 Brabanters, 2 GLW, 1 BO, 1 Black Cuckoo Maran, 1 EE and 1 Speckled Sussex. Now deciding which ones to keep will be a challenge. The only way I can keep them all is talk my hubby into adding another covered run! I'll sell or give away what I don't keep. I really like raising them and I might do this every year. It is so magical watching the chicks grow!

I have 7 1 yr old hens also. I just got 4 babies. Was supposed to get 3 but couldn't say no to just one more. My run is big enough but I might have to add on to my coop if I keep em all.

I started this on on fire canning last fall so it has some singed edges

The hatchery I ordered welsummers from ran out of chicks I guess im getting another type of chick im think chocolate orpington bantam chicks
