My chickens have been hatching babies and a great amound have been dying. Last Wednesday i found one almost dead with a wound were the yolk sac should have been and covered in yolk and blood. I took it home and cared for it,the wound is closed but the babie wont eat or drink by itself. I tried taking it back to its mother but she rejected it.Yesterday it started having hiccup-like episodes. This morning when i tried giving it water it started puking a clear-brownish residue and wont eat.

What feed do they babies have access to? What's the diet of the parents? Are these new moms?
Yes, its their first time, the mums are barely one years old. The parent's diet i believe is ok. We have them 2 feeders, with different types of food( dust and crumbs) with blended vitamins and some spices and they are at a farm where they have a big enclosure where they can eat bugs from the soil. 5 of the babies are perfectly healthy, 4 were found dead under their mothers. I am more concern about the one i have at home. I give it baby chick food i got from the pet store but it refuses to eat. I dont want to leave it to die but i also dont know what else i can do.

Thank you for the quick reply

If the baby didn't absorb the yolk right or had bacteria enter through the yolk sack wound, it likely won't live. I'm sorry.
