Ok new chick mom here. I have one of my barred rock babies and when she stretches a leg out like the others, she collapses and lays on her side for a minute. So far I only notice it with just her. She pops back up and is fine but whenever she does a leg stretch she falls over on her side.

I've raised a few chickens myself and have seen this a few times but I've never actually had an issue, it's usually just with the new chicks having a lack of balance. I wouldn't be too worried unless she doesn't get up.

I don’t think it’s something to be worried about unless the chick continues to do it after a month

Sounds like the chick just doesn’t have the best balance(which a lot don’t) and it should stop in the next few weeks

M chicks often take a rest like this. It always gives me a mini heart attack and ill gently shake the brooder to make sure shes OK and they always are. I think they are just taking a sprawled out nap.

I need a little more info, how old, what food, how her legs look, what breed, vaccines, other chickens, pics would be great. Hope she gets better!
One week old. Medicated chick feed. Barred rock. Vaccinated. 9 other chicks. Legs are fine otherwise.
