I have two sets of chickens 4 weeks old and the other set is 3 weeks old.
We just placed them out into a pin from a cardboard box. They seem to
be fighting since we placed them in the pin. Anyone have any clue why?
The last time I checked they weren't fighting. Well my other question
is I have a light out there, since it is summer now and hot during the
day do I need the light on them during the day? Also when can I leave
the light off them? Are can I? Thanks for any help.

At 4 weeks old, your chicks probably don't need the light during the day, depending on temps. If it's nice and sunny and temps in the 70-80 degree range they need some shade and sun but no light. But if it's below 79*, rainy, cloudy, windy, they probably need to be in and have their light. By the time they are 6-8 weeks old and completely feathered they will no longer need the light. As for the fighting, they are at the age that they are setting their pecking order and the roos are beginning to feel rooish (is that a word?). Mostly it's the pecking order. Nothing to be concerned about
