We ordered our first batch of chicks late last winter and they arrived this week.
We lost two during the delivery and four others in the two days following but out of 57 chicks I am guessing that is pretty good.
The rest of the bunch are all happy and growing quite fast! The only exception is one poor baby who does not seem to be growing like her siblings and has frequent "episodes" where she falls to the ground, rolls on her back or side, and writhes, twisting her head and neck, not fast or frantic just twisted...she also cannot stand up when she is doing this, the other chicks try to peck at her and she peeps loudly at them but cannot get up and away from them or untwist her neck to peck back. These episodes or seizures of sorts last about a minute and then she bounces to her feet and runs off. Any ideas?
