I have this chick that just 6 week old and today I caught on top of his mom grabbing her head and trying to mate with her. Does this mean it a rooster or what?

Weirdest thing this is the secound it happen to me the first time was years ago when I was in elementary school now in college this is the secound time. The first chick died so never knew if it was a rooster

I had a Black Copper Marans baby rooster right at 5 or 6 weeks do this, too. It was about 2010 or 2011. Shocked me. I had never seen it again and have never again seen it since. I am reliving the shock as I think about it. He didn't try his charms on his sisters, but I moved him to another group of chicks since he had a thing for his mom that I thought was weird and needed to be nipped in the bud.

Edited to add: It was definitely not anything like when they just crawl around on their mom. Nope.
