i had a chick hatch out and it has a leg that doesnt work and i cant get around. i feel bad for the little thing. what should i do? can it maybe survive?

If the leg is sticking out to the side it is probably splayed leg. You can treat that with a small band aid. wrap the band aid around one leg just enough for it to stick back to itself, then position the legs so they look right and wrap the other end around the other leg. I've never had to do this myself, but I've heard of it working for others on here.

There is a lot of info on leg/foot problems on the Poultry Pedia site. The link is in my signature. Many issues can be resolved if treated quickly.

Good luck.

I have a pigeon with a splayed leg. I think I should do that. It doesn't hurt them when you wrap the bandaid around, does it?

I just had a chick hatch like that. It wasn't splay leg, it wasn't a slipped tendon, it was just a deformity. The leg is at least sticking down now as opposed to out to the side, but it still isn't right. The chick can get to the food and water and remain upright just fine, so maybe it will survive- and yours may too. Try the band-aid thing first, but check out some of the other possible leg problems. Good luck!
