I just hatched my first shipped chicks heritage barred rocks and one chick was born with bent toes i was told this was due to inbreeding? I hope this is not the case as I won't be to happy. Input on this would be greatly appreciated

What did you use for splints? I tried band aids, and tape, neither worked. I mean it corrected them a bit, but they still are crooked some. I just gave up cause it seems like the chicken is doing fine. It doesn't walk any different then the rest. I would imagine it just runs slower, and can't scratch as good as the others. It doesn't seem life threatening.
