I recently adopted a little chick with an injured leg. She walks like she's off balance and tends to either hold it up, or lean against a wall for support. I couldn't find any sores when I examined her, so I'm not sure what the problem is, or if it's fixable. Her leg tends to stick out to the side when I hold her, but can be moved back into a better position. However, her knee seems to be stuck in a band. The best way to describe it is like it's in an L shape, and she's trying to use it like an awkward cane. She can't seem to properly straighten her leg to walk on her foot normally. Her foot appears to be slightly swollen, and her knee doesn't straighten out very well. It doesn't seem so be painful when I try, but it always has a bit of a bend to it when I try to straighten it. For clarification, I mean that I held her and attempted to see of I could get her leg to straighten out to see if it was stuck in a bend. She's eating and drinking, but has trouble walking. Is there anything I can do to help her. Even if the leg can't be fixed, I would like to find a way to make it easier for her to walk. Thanks.

Poor thing. I hope it can cope up with the condition. Please keep us posted so we can be posted about his condition

Limpy butt is doing ok. She seems to be adapting to walking around on her bum leg. She's able to move around the chick box surprisingly fast. Do you think there is anything I can do to fix her leg?

If it is a slipped tendon, and the leg doesn't want to straighten out completely, can it be fixed. I'm worried that it might be fused like that.

I’m not an expert on leg problems, but that looks more like a twisted tibia. A slipped tendon can be fixed sometimes, but not often. A twisted tibia usually is not fixable. Many people who have the ability to care for a handicapped chick, will let them live and try to learn to get around with their disability, while others cull. See this thread post 9 for videos of putting the tendon back in place for a slipped tendon:
