baby chick with crooked neck

Its kind of like their stomach. If you feel around where the neck/breast are, you should be able to feel if its a hard mass or not. If she's eating you should be able to feel SOMETHING in there, even if its mushy. Don't confuse it with the breast bone, that will be hard (obviously right? lol)

Thanks for the information, I will be looking into the vitamin end, so I will let you all know what happens next.

just a quick update, my chick is a disabled chick, with her neck bone growing in a u shape, and she seems to be thriving, so I will keep everyone updated.

I have a baby buff that has the same problem. She is two weeks old today and we noticed it. All others are just fine. She gets around and seems to eat and drink without any problem but her neck is definitely growing crooked.

Do a thread search re: crazy chick disease, vitamin E encephalopathy. Treatment: Vitamin E, selenium, B vitamins. can provide multi purpose with Poultry Nutri-drench. May solve the problem, either temporarily, or permanently. Or chick may end up eventually need to be culled due to systemic damage.
