Baby Chick with Large Cut on Neck

We have a baby chick with a 1 inch area on the neck with a cut (not bleeding). We put ointment on it but she keeps scratching at it. We only have one heat lamp so she is with the others. Any recommendations?

Looks like it's already healed over, how long ago was she injured?

What type of ointment did you put on it? I would use triple antibiotic ointment to help keep it moist. Likely it itches.

That’s what we use. I think she got her head stuck in the cover of the box that they are located in. It’s too cold to put them with the other chickens so we are going to change the cover. I’m just glad it’s nothing super serious!
