Baby Chick with Splayed leg

We just realized that one of DH new babys has one splayed leg. I have read that it should be corrected within the first 24 hours but this baby is almost a week and 1/2 old. If we try to treat will it correct itself at this age? If we do nothing will it be able to trive as an adult? I guess my question really is if it does not get corrected should we put it down or can it grow and be happy?

Today we decided to let the chick go to chick heaven. It was using its good leg to get around which was making it splay as well. We watched it for a couple of days and it just got worse so DH sent it to chick heaven. Rest its little soul.

that is really sad. your dh put her to chickie heaven? how did he do it?

He said that he pulled off her head. I did not see it and did not want to see it.
