I have a baby hatching out this mornign about 8am the egg had a small crack in it. Then I checked about 12:30 it was a litte more cracked not much, but the chick was really chirping like it really wantd out? Like it needed help! I see now that there is a little blood on the inner white layer? Just a little not alot? Should I help the baby? Why would there be blood?

Hi,
It sounds fine to me. they can take 24 hrs to complete a hatch.. they work a little . rest a little............
It is really hard work for them............It is just so hard to wait , I know........................
The blood is because the veins that have been feeding it are still intact. Thee will dry up before it is out that is why it needs more time.
If you help this soon, it can cause the chick to bleed to death...............
There is a thread about this....It is "when to assist.................I think you can find it using search............
Also might get more response going into the next thread up..incubation and hatching (I think)..Good Luck
and don't open the incubator if there are other eggs hatching in there...................
