Hello I posted a few days ago about one of my babies being noisy. The noise has stopped today I've noticed my welsummer looks like she's burping on occasion. It's not like open mouth breathing, looks like a big yawn from time to time. Anyone familiar with this? They have food, water, and variable temperature.

If you can get a video of her actions that may help. Upload to youtube and provide a link.

A big yawn from time to time and what looks like a burp may be adjusting the crop - hard to know without seeing it.
Do you provide grit for your chicks?

If you brood with a heat plate and the chicks are not up at all hours eating/drinking - check her crop when it's lights out, then first thing in the morning before she eats/drinks - the crop should be empty.

If you brood with a lamp - feel her crop after she eats and the others - it should be full. Take out the food for a couple of hours then re-feel the crop - see if it's gone down some. It's very hard to gauge crop function in chicks if they have light 24/7.

No grit yet as they are only eating the 24 percent chick crumple feed. They are only 5 days old, last time I didn't give chick grit till they were around 6 weeks when I started giving other treats
