I apologize that the pictures aren't great. It's still early and dark where I am, and I didn't want to turn on the overhead light and offend my babies.
Yesterday afternoon, I got the new brooder set up. It's a baby pack and play style playpen. It accommodates that massive brooder plate while still allowing room for the little ones to explore. They seem very happy in it.
Now that I'm over the initial learning curve that came with brooder plate, I really love it. The babies are sometimes completely underneath it, and sometimes they're napping right at the edge of it. But they always seem completely comfortable and content. Lots of peace of mind for me!
Random question, does anyone know about Golden Sebright bantams? My little Sebright is LOUD, lol. It'll peep so loudly that I think something might be wrong. I'll rush in there, check it and everyone else over good, check temperatures, food, and water. Nothing is wrong. It often sits on top of the brooder plate and just peeps at the top of its lungs. Never for longer than a minute or 2 at one time. It seems to happen most often after I've been in that room and then walked out. I did some quick research and it does seem that this is a noisy breed. I was just curious about anyone else's experience with them.
