I have a newly hatched chicken that can't stand on his legs..they just spread outward..What should I do?

You can try using a band-aid as shown in this link (you'll have to cut and paste it, I can't make the link work today):

...and if that's all that's wrong with the baby, it might do okay. If there's other underlying problems/congenital problems, maybe not.

At least it's easy to do, and may help.

Band-aid between his legs. The cotton part between, the sticky part wrap around his legs. It helps to cut it in half lengthwise to get a better fit. It will help him stand and strengthen the leg muscles to help him walk. We had a chick like that and he is fine now

We had a silkie like that and I put a plaster (band aid) on his wee legs for a few days and you would never know now that there had been anything wrong with him!
