Baby chicken honking

Recently my 3month old pekin x australorp frizzle pullet has started to make a occasional honking noise when I pick her up.. she only makes this noise when I pick her up and I’m wondering if this is just her finding her voice or if she has any problems. Mind you that we purchased her farther from a neighbour’s flock flock for a bottle of wine and have found out that he is inbread, we are hoping that his medical problems haven’t been passed down to her.

I've had a hen do that. My EE would have a raspy honking noise that came whenever she was stressed (being handled, being overheated..) I always assumed her respiratory system was a little weak or finnicky.

Teen birds honk, squeak, chirp-cluck, all sorts of weird things, as they grow up and find their adult voice. It's very cute while it lasts.
