Lots of folks have a hard time getting birds to change to pellets from crumbles. Personally, I feed crumbles only, so it's not an issue. But since the OP wound up with pellets by mistake, the birds are going to have to deal with it. Truthfully, they're not going to starve to death. It may take a while, and they'll fuss, but they'll eventually eat them.
