I have 12 chickes 1 week younger than 16 banty mix chicks. They seem to be fighting and they are only a week old. I separated the banty chicks from the younger chicks. When they were together they had a red lighten Should I keep them seperated? if so when can I put them back together? This is the first time Iv raised chicks in a long time so please help!!!

I would keep them separate for now. :) If it gets warm enough to put them outside for a little play time, put them out together and see what they do. If they don't fight you could try putting them back together maybe.
hope this helps!
if you have time post some pics of your chickies!

How much room do they have? They should have at least 1 sqft per bird, 2 would be better.

1 weeks difference should work ok if they have lots of room and maybe 2 feeders and waterers till they work things thru.

Banty chicks are prone to fighting, but it sounds more like they're establishing pecking order between the two flocks. I have 12 2-week chicks all hatched at the same time, together, and I see them bumping chests, displaying their ruffs (what ruffs they have at that age), etc, all the time. That's what they're doing, and that's perfectly normal.
