I have recently gotten new baby chicks. I was looking into some vitamins or electrolytes to give them, when I ran across a video of someone saying they mix body armour with water to give to their chicks as electrolytes. Has anyone else done this? Does it work? It’s okay to do? Thanks!

Hi!

Congrats on the new chicks!

I don't know what that product is, but yes, we commonly give ours a day of Poultry Cell in their water then skip a day and give fresh, then the next give them probiotic water. For that, we have HydroHen which has electrolytes in too.

Some like to use electrolytes, a product called Save-A-Chic or others if their chicks were shipped in. I might too if mine were. Electrolytes can help if they are stressed, as they might have been while being shipped and then hauled in box via car to your home.

Oh perfect that’s good to know. I may go get some of that today then! Body armour is actually like a hydration drink for people, it’s got lots of vitamins and in its made with coconut water. But I had never heard anyone using it for chicks before
