We just got chicks for the first time ever. Our 3 black ones are different than the white n brown ones. 2 of them don't have fuzz on their backs and this morning all 3 of them have a growth , like a goiter, on the right side do their necks. Are they sick or is it specific to their breed, which I have no idea of what they are.

How old are they? The missing fuzz could be due to feathers growing in. Although, if they arent a couple weeks old, it could be a sickness of some sort.

My only other possibility would be mites. The mites could have been eating at the chicks back. Look around on the chicks, see if there is any little specks. For lice, just look for the bugs in their fluff.

I agree, but if they are only a day old than this might just be normal. Good luck with your chicks!
