I just purchased 4 rhode island red pullets, 4 white leghorn pulleys and 3 cornish rock mixed baby chicks from tractor supply 6 days ago and am noticing some have red skin, bleeding in spots and feathers are thinning. What could be wrong did I purchase sick chicks? They have pine shavings down, we got the 3 in 1 hydro hen supplement for water and chick starter non medicated. Our last chicks which are black sex linked because hens are barred rock and rooster is some kind of mixed breed were hatched from our hens last year but we decided this year to get some new breeds for the flock.

Her is one of the chicks I could catch. We just bought the chicken house to house them separate from the flock there is a heat lamp in there for them to keep warm .

Is it because they are store bought and lighter color it seems diffrent? I didn't notice this with the chicks the hen hatched and raised.
I think it might be. But the skin jut looks a bit red. What type of bedding are you using? And what’re the temperatures with the heat lamp?
