Baby chicks not getting along

9 days old on the roost bar, 10 days old in the box. :)
Awesome thank you! :)
My chicks looked like the ones in the box when i got them as a gift.
So they are 35 days old or 5 weeks old exactly today.
I put them in their new chicken coop today (its 95°F, but they have shade from the big trees).

Glad the photos helped you determine the age of your chicks!

Oooh, big day for babies when they get cast out to the coop. I get some serious "empty nest" syndrome myself. :D

Yeah, it feels so empty inside my home now.
I will order a new batch of chicks next week.
Some heat tolerant breeds.
My poor Barred Rock chick was panting at 4pm, so I made their ground wet and gave more shade.
My Delaware chick had no problem at all with the heat.

Yes I really miss them in the house after they are permanently put outside. :p

Babies need time to learn how to adjust their internal thermostats, as they age their bodies will be able to cool and warm when needed. Wetting the ground definitely helps to cool them off. If you can manage, fans work well on wet ground too, the evaporative cooling chills it out even more. Ice in water fonts and cool watermelon too.
