Baby chicks play fighting

Does play fighting determine if they are a rooster or hen? or it's just normal like with any other animals? We have two that we have no idea what they will be since our hen hatched them.

From my experience, play-fighting is very common among both hens and roosters. Our girls entertained themselves as chicks by running at each other and fluffing out their feathers in mock aggression. It was always fun for them to engage in this activity, but now that they have grown up and started laying, they have given up that energetic playtime.

Thanks for the replies :) It was pretty comical watching them fluff up, duck and go at each other. So fun with babies in the spring and summer months!
