Baby Chicks... What Gender??

Is there any way of telling what gender a BABY chick is? Or do you have to wait until they are older to tell?

As in Just Hatched? No, unless you can vent sex, and even that is not 100% If you wait until they start getting their feathers you can tell depending on breed. Some breeds will have distinct colors for their male/females. Some breeds will have one gender grow slower than others. Really if you want to be sure, wait saddle and hackle feathers, a crow, or an egg.

Other than that, vent sexing is how the hatcheries do it, and they claim 90% accuracy.
