I'm new at this, my first babies! I got my package at 4AM this morning from Post Office! There was few trampled on in bottom of box, when I put them in brooder, there was 2 that was sluggish, I tried putting water on beaks and food in front of them, but when I woke back up 1 was dead, the other is still fighting, I used a water bottle cap and put that with water in front of her with feed at her feet, she still is sluggish and not eating! ? Please help!

Sorry you are having a rough time. This is my biggest fear, as I am waiting on my first chicks also. Do you have any electrolyte solution? There are recipes to make it very easily. It may help. I plan to have some on hand when I get my babies.

She's gone too chick heaven! She didn't make it. They sat at a post office for over 23 hours!

I'm wondering why do they lay face down, they're scaring me?

I think that as long as they are not smooshing and suffocating someone in a corner, the face down laying is just what mine seem to do, too. It's like they have narcolepsy. They do face plants all over the place. This is my first time with chicks, too, but it just seems to be the way new ones sleep?

I was suppose to get 25 and only have 15 right now. They were so dehydrated! I tried the sugar water and everything! Idk what else to do! They are so quiet right now!

Most hatcheries will either give you a refund or reship chicks if you have losses within the first 48 hours. Be sure to let them know asap.

You can mash up the yolk of a hard boiled egg, mix it with water, and give a bit to them with a syringe or dropper. Or if they will eat it on their own when offered mashed, that's great.
