Is this normal for chicks to sleep like that ?? With their legs out?

Yes, very normal. Practically everybody thinks their chicks are laying dead on the brooder floor at some point the first time they rise a brood. The chicks stretch out and you'd swear they are dead, but they will hop up if you disturb them.

Don't feel bad, most of us have fallen for that once.
