Baby chicks

Starting with a small number of chicks helps.
I started with 8 chicks, I would talk to them and call them by their names when they were in the brooder. I wouldn't hold them a lot, only when transferring them to clean the brooder.
When they were in the coop, I would pull up stool and join them for some time, talk them, use their names, etc. And when they were allowed to be in the run, I would do the same thing... pull up stump, talk to them, use their names, etc.
I don't have any chickens that attack me, I now have 16 hens and 1 rooster. They all know their names and they respond to their names. They all have their own personality. I still pull up a stump, talk to them, use their names, etc. while I drink my coffee or after the long work day.

#1 when you approach the brooder, do it quietly and slowly. Talk softly to alert the chicks that you are near by.
#2 don't reach into the brooder and grab a chick every chance you get. That will make them learn "I don't like humans" and when they get bigger they will always be skittish and run from you.
#3 spend a lot of time getting them used to your voice. just put your hand in the brooder and let them climb on it, walk near it, etc. don't make any move to get them

There are other things, but this is a start. Hope it helps!

Picking up chicks the right way helps a lot. I’m no expert but I’ve found there are two ways to pick up a chick: the claw and the boat. Chicks do not like the claw, they think your a predator.
the boat they like a lot because it’s comforting and secure. I talk to my chicks with a baby voice and usually repeat the same three lines when I talk to them. “Hello pretty birds, you’re so cute, I love you,” and they started shaking their heads to know they are listening. And treats will make them run to you so make sure you have a special sound when giving it to them. I use “chi chi chi”.

How do you tame baby chicks
Spend lots of time with them, touch them often, talk to them often, pick them up often, and feed them from your hands. Lots of love. So far my rooster is 11 weeks old and he loves being around me. I so love him too.
