Hello !
I am brand new to having ducks and I have three 2 week olds at the moment
while two of them seem happy as can be I have one duck that seems a little bit 'special'...

What can you do about your baby ducks jumping ?
this one bounces a lot and then falls over and refuses to get up

I'm getting worried about him , he also is the only duckling to get soaked when going for a swim
Is this normal for most ducklings ? I checked his tail gland and it doesn't seem to have oily feathers like the other two

In addition I have been giving them all brewers yeast but the same duck in question still seems to suffer from weak ankles...

If anyone has some ideas or input it would be very welcomed

Thank you !

At 2 weeks old they don't have a developed oil gland yet so they will soak up water and become waterlogged. Even mine at 4 weeks still get water logged fluff. So just make sure he doesn't get too exhausted when swimming and make sure he dries off well when he gets out is the best thing.

As for jumping. My ducklings don't jump so I don't know how to stop one from jumping. You might give him Sav A Chic in his water. It has added vitamins and minerals. He could be a slow developer. I had one that had issues and she's still smaller than the others and doesn't walk as well but she gets by.

Thank you for replying , I just assumed they did because the other two which may be different breeds don't get water logged at all !

Yeah ive been using Sav-A-Chic since day one
he is actually the fattest duck out of the three of them and has the most tail feathers just not common sense yet ...
I just found him on his back now .. chilling.. with out a care in the world Haha!

If anyone knows breeds well , they are my profile picture
I know the yellow one is a runner and the brown one a campbell but i havent a clue what the black one is
any ideas?
