Baby duck

So my duck laid two eggs and is sitting on them but their due soon and she is kinda a spook and we don't think the babies will be safe when they hatch. We don't want her to abandon them but we don't want them to die, any suggestions? She laid them and there is a hole looking thing behind her so they might fall in. Also will we have to take the babies from her? Or will she take care of them?

Okay, Thank you very much! Will the male try to attack the babies? We have him and another female, the mom and dad are Mallards and the other girl is a Pekin. Thank you again!

she will protect them till they are part of the group and they'll develop their own pecking order.

I like to err on the side of caution. I would fence her and babies off, so the other ducks cannot bother them. Not all moms have protective instincts plus, she couldn't fight off all of them.
