My sister-in-law has a lawn cutting business and cuts our lawn once a week, she was over on Sunday and asked if we would take a baby duck she has because she has no room for it?? It's only about a week old but from what I understand, ducks need a "pool" and you can't have that in with the chicks because the chicks will drown?? Will I have to keep the baby duck separate from the chicks? Eventually we can put the duck outside, we have about a 7 acre pond, but in the meantime, I think I will have to keep them separate??

Yes, you will want to keep them seperate. Ducks are messy little stinkers! LOL At a week old it wont need a pool....maybe let it in the bathtub for a few minutes a few times a week. They also can NOT have medicated chick starter! bad bad bad for them.
Have fun with your new feathered friend!
