It will be fine give him 48 hours it should be gone and the duckling will most likley try if not be walking around.View attachment 2940536Please help!! We noticed this Baby cracking it’s egg and chirping about 48 hours ago. Of course I read and read trying to figure out what to do and was advised to wait up until 48 hours before assisting. When I checked again today, you could see it moving in theegg through the tiny hole it had made and it was chirping but no progress on the hole after 48 hours so I assisted in helping it out of the egg. It wasn’t attached to the egg in any way, but it’s little bottomis protruded (as pictured) but is no longer bleeding. It’s alert and chirps a lot but I have no idea what to do from here. This is my first baby duckling (newborn). It’s mama, Lucy, sadly was taken by a predator right before it was born.broke my heart! We have the necessary nesting/cooping but during the day something must have gotten her.
we have two dogs that are very protective of our ducks during the day when they roam our land but they were not outside the day she disappeared. We had her and the daddy since they were 6 weeks old. So I am very new to all of this. I’ve sent my husband to Tractor Supply to pick up some Nutridrench but I could use all the help I can get! It was in the incubator for almost 33 days. It’s holding its head up moving around (not walking) but I’m terrified to take my eyes off of it.
