Hi everyone this is my first time hatching eggs. It’s been over 48 hours since my duckling internally pipped. I was worried I didn’t see as much movement or chirping. So i placed a safety hole. I had no progress for another 12 hours so i removed some of the egg shell. The told membrane looks as if it dried out after I removed the shell. Any advice on what to do now?? Thank you for your help!

I think that things are supposed to be pretty moist the last few days during lockdown, to prevent drying out. What is the humidity at?
It’s at 78 right now. I’ve had it at 69-70ish the last few days

Sounds about right. I might assist the hatch if you look around at the inside of the eggshell and don’t see any blood vessels, but if you do, assisting the hatch could break a vessel and kill it.
