My duck Dasiy is lying on eggs! But this morning all of her eggs were everywhere in the coop. My ducks share a coop with my chickens because they choose too. Do you think the chickens did something. But, she is back on the eggs. But why were they scattered?

Any of the non broody birds could have done this. The broody will also kick out smelly eggs. You should try to separate the broody and nest if you can. Maybe put chicken wire up so other birds can’t mess with the nest.

They may go after any ducklings that hatch too. Always a good idea to separate mama and ducklings from the rest of the flock but where they can all still see each other. But don't use chicken wire the ducklings will probably be able to fit through when first hatched. Or stick their heads through which means they will be fair game for anyone on the other side.

yes, but if i cover the nest my duck daisy will not be able to go in the pond where she can get a drink and cool off. thank you though

thank you all for your awnsers to my questions. I am just concerned that when the baby ducks do hatch will my chickens and male duck donald kill them?

What should I do and how do I know when they are about to hatch? I do have a estimate of them being born on July 10th but I am not certain?
When I hatched out chicks. I locked everyone but the broody hen out of the coop for a couple nights. Once hatched I moved mom and babies to a small coop by themselves. I could only do that because I have livestock dogs by the birds and knew they would be fine from predators for a couple nights. Your broody bird will get more aggressive and probably won’t leave nest or only very quickly when duckling are about to hatch.
