Our mallard/black ducks have hatched 13 babies...cuter than a button, but we already have 5 adults and don't really have room for all those babies...
Right now they and momma are penned up in their own cozy little pen by the other four grown ups, so they can learn how to be ducks, and so momma can take care of them and keep them in line. My question is, what is the best way to adopt out my grand-quackers? And how old do they need to be to be separated from their momma?

So, are they a mix of mallard and black ducks? And i would just ask around your town or local feed store or something like that if youre looking to sell your ducks.

To be honest, we don't know exactly what they are...They are not Mallards, our males do not have the green heads, they are black with just a greenish tinge...and they are not Rouen, they are not that big...we are thinking they are a mix of mallards and black duck because the look an awful lot like both, but not totally like either. I don't have a very good picuture because Mabel kees herding them away from wherever we are...when it was just her and the other four I can get right up close with them, and they wil snag the occasional freeze dried meal worm from my hand, and they come flying in from wherever they are exploring when I whistle, but there is no way she is letting me near the babies...lol...

She is! She is a wonderful mommy...it breaks my heart to have to adopt out the babies, but we just don't have room for 13 more ducks...I just want to find homes for them where they will be as spoiled as their mom, dad, aunt and uncles are...lol...
