My 2 week old baby goose, Gary, just lost about 1/4 of his upper beak, just below the nostrils. I have NO clue how he did this, because he is in with two baby Easter egger chicks and a baby turkey, 2 weeks old as well. I saw blood in the brooder and noticed his beak. Will he be okay? Will it grow back? What should I do?

Poor thing. I wish I had the knowledge to help you. I noticed the Geese forum moves slower than other forums. Questions here sometimes take a while to get answered.

First, check to see how it got its beak caught. They are very curious and any holes or gaps will lead to trouble. Make sure it wasn't a family pet that got it, too.

I do not think The beak will grow back but they do heal. clean it very well and Put neosporin on it. Watch for infection. I've beverage had an injury quite like that so this is the best advice I can give you.

Your chicks and turkey not sure about the turkey but the chicks will be drawn to blood and injuries so I'd put some kind of partition between the gosling and the other babies where they can still see each other but the gosling won't get pecked on. Give the gosling a stuffed animal for company. I don't think it will grow back either but give it a deep bowl so it can scoop it's feed out.
