Chinese Goose with lump under beak

I have this 5 year old Chinese Goose with a hard lump under his beak. It is growing bigger. I had to take him to the vet last year to have some necrotic tissue removed from under his tongue (apparently he tried to eat something sharp and got an infection) and now this is an issue. Vet said he could try to remove it but it was more or less a "Hail Mary". Anyone have experience with this?

It could be an abscess that needs to be drained.
