I have a baby Pilgrim goose which is approx 1 mon. old. He was raised in our lake by his parents up until 3 days ago when I found him fighting to swim and keep his body upright. I retrieved him from the water and eventually brought him inside to try and figure out what was going on with him. He will not even try to put weight on his legs and doesn't even open his feet to try and stand. All he will do is is lay down. At first I thought maybe the heat had gotten to him and he was just weak, however, after 2 days, he is acting much stronger and chirping all the time. I have had trouble getting him to drink from a waterer or eat chick starter so I started bringing grass into him and he will eat it. I bought a very small baby pool and put him in it and he will drink. He mostly just floats but will move his legs a little to move around in the water. HELP! I can't stand seeing him just lay there so I try to put him in his little pool several times a day for 15-30 min at a time. Any thoughts on what is going on?
