Feel free to post a pic in a few weeks or so on this thread to show her growth. When they are 1 month or older is the best time to tell their gender, because if they are a male they will be growing in their sickle feathers, saddle feathers, etc.- the telltale male traits! If "she" is a he and you have other wyandottes to compare her with of the same age, it's comb with be reddish at about 1 month old while females combs (of the same age and breed) with be lighter in color and smaller.
Sexing definitely does vary greatly depending on breed- breeds with single combs are definitely easier to sex IMO because the combs mature quickly, whereas it may be difficult for breeds with different comb types, such as rose or pea combs for examples.
