So I brought my two girls in the other night and I’m glad I did. Those wind gusts were bad. The next morning, the girls were in the kitchen until I got the tarp back on the coop. Even with a bungee across it, it still ended up way over by the fence. I also lost one of the bungees I had to hold it. I found a ratcheting strap to hold the bottom of the tarp down and I moved the third bungee to the one I lost. I made sure the temps stayed in the positive numbers although I know the wind didn’t keep it there. I still didn’t let the girls out of their coop yesterday. When I gave more water at 10am, I also let them out until i returned from getting more water and food. I only left them out for 10 minutes and they kept switching feet due to cold. So Alexa said it was going to feel like positive teens temp. Yay! I think, as long as i can shelter them from the wind, they will be ok!!!!

I let the girls out today. It was in the high teens and windchill was still positive. I’m very grateful for that. I put out more straw, but the weather is supposed to go back down.
