So we got these little ones as rouens at rural king looking around today at pics and realized thats definitely not what we have. This is our first time having birds so I have so many questions. They are just over a week old when can i start taking them outside to discover and play for short periods? Someone said you can teah them how to eat out of your hand how would I go about that? I have a two year old so i would really like them to bond with both of us how do I go about this? Also my sil got two babies from the same batch they will end up here when to old for inside how do I introduce and integrate them with ours? Let me thrown this in my two year old is not allowed to pick up the ducklings or be around them unsupervised.

Welcome to BYC very cute Khaki Campbells here is a great info on caring for ducklings... on nice warm days take them outside to play just don't let them get chilled. When you bring the other 2 home[

] place them side by side with some kind of fencing plastic poultry fencing works good for this and let them live side by side for at least a week might not take that long might take longer. and when you can supervised visits with each other. Best way to teach hand feeding is giving them something really yummy like dried meal worms or smooshed green peas thawed in micro wave just sit on the floor with hand held out if the are to shy then begin to toss them to them once they get the taste they will probably be in your lap. may take a little longer for you to teach both ducklings and 2 yr old to bond because ducks are very skiddish of noise and fast movement which most kids do both. It can be done though. [Always offer chick grit when feeding any thing other than their starter feed.

I just got KC's too and I read some were that they should be 3 weeks old too start getting them out side for short periods.n about the feeding of the hands is going too be really hard since they r very scared so u might want too go very slow n u should start handling them when there babies so they don't get scared of u and run away from u.im new too rasing KC's so I got a little info for u not a lot.
