I picked up some of my chicks during the last couple of days. I still have a few more coming. Here is what I got so far...
2 Blue Marans:
1 Partridge Rock (I am debating if I should buy up another one):
1 Speckled Sussex:
1 Gold Laced Wyandotte (sorry for the poor photo):
2 Black Sex Links:
2 Delawares:
3 Easter Eggers (The two yellow ones have gray on their back, one has quite a bit and one has just a little. I am hoping these turn out to be White with gray/silver.) :
5 Rhode Island Red (my favorite):
And finally 1 Buff Orpington (I did not plan on getting any of these this year. We were in a feed store buying the Easter Eggers and of course had to see what was in all the tubs. We looked at the BO tub and saw this one little chick in there all by herself. She looked so lonely. My daughters we ahh-ing and ohh-ing and also saying how she looked so lonely. Even the employee in the feed store commented how she looked so lonely. I walked away from it but then my wife asked how anyone could leave a single chick in the tub. I was looking for her to agree that we could walk away without it, but nope, she asked if we could get it. After that there was no hope of getting out of the store without it. My wife is the strong one in the family that can usually say we don't need any more.)
I still have a few more to pickup. On Tuesday I am hoping to get 2 Gold Comets from a feed store that is just a couple of minutes from my office. Hopefully they will come in this week. There was a mixup at the hatchery last week and they were not shipped. Next Saturday I am getting 3 BLRW and 1 Wellsummer from a local breeder. He is also trying to get 2 California Whites for me from someone else local.
