I have one of my 40-something baby quail hatched on Saturday that is not walking upright - it's pushing itself around on it's chest? It's feet/legs look normal, just obviously not strong enough to hold it up - anybody else ever have this happen?

I lost one of my baby Tuxedo's last night ::sniff::

This happened to a jersey I hatched recently. I decided to cull it, which I really hated to do since it looked like a hen and was nice quality otherwise.

I had one that couldn't walk, would just fall over. It had gotten wedged under an egg carton just after hatching, and its legs were stretched out. I held it upright on its feet for about 15 minutes, and it got used to that and was able to develop correctly and walk.

do a search on here..."splay leg" I think it was called...you can usea tiny piece of a bandaid to keep it's legs together...mine was healed in a few days and is now walking perfectly.....

the posting on here has nice pics to show you how to do it and it was pretty easy to do.....save the little guy if you can.....

It's definitely NOT splay leg (I have been raising rabbits for 14 years and have seen it before in them and this is definitely not that). Just weak legs. Today I went to see how it was doing and I can see one that it might be that is walking a little wobblier, but not one is pushing itself around on it's chest anymore, so I guess it's legs got stronger
