Baby quail novice here!

I work at Tractor Supply and we just got a surprise batch of baby Bobwhite Quail. The other person who works with the birds(and is knowledgeable about quail) is out until later today so I thought I’d check here. I put out the quail waterer. what should I use for feed? I don’t have any game bird feed on hand. Also, do they need electrolytes like the other chicks?

i don't know what electrolytes are. But i don't use them. am i supposed to??
you should get their feed as soon as possible. you can give them some home grown kale for now and millet.

They need much higher protein than chicken chicks. If you don't have game bird feed, look for something 24-28% protein.

The protocol for chicks when they arrive at the store is to give them warm water with Hydro Hen in it. Hydro Hen has electrolytes and probiotics and gives them a boost when they are stressed. They get that for an hour or so and then we give them chick feed. I dug out a bag of the 24% starter so they have that. I’m not getting anything else as 1) we are having trouble getting special order products in during this pandemic and 2) hopefully they will all be bought in a day or so.
Hydro Hen
They were all happy and active, eating and drinking when I left the store so I think they are good. Boy they are tiny, made me nervous but all is well for now. Thanks for the help I was worried I would cause a problem. The other employee who actually has knowledge was on her way in so I told her to check my work .
