I've had 2 Baby silkies die on me with in the past 2 weeks, they were eating and drinking fine for the frist 4 and half days had heat and all but night hit on the 5th and both times they became weak and fragile.
The first one was under the heat lamp as I went to bed and in the morning she was on the otherside of the cage cold and barely moving. I tryed to heat her up but couldn't ( any reason she would move super far from the lamp)

And the second is constantly tired and sleepy and weak she moves a small it but she was fine all day all chirpy and active but she's now weak and struggling. I've given her honey water and checked on her but I don't think she'll make it through the night. She's also not cold cause she's close to the lamp as I've put up a little fence so they can't go to far from the heat

I have a second chicken (different breed) that's been fine for the past 2 weeks and I don't think she would be ok loosing another friend.

Where'd you get them, & were they shipped?

Have you given them any electrolytes, & vitamins in their water?

What do you feed?

How high, or low is the heat lamp?

Welcome To BYC

I'm sorry your having trouble.
Can you please post some photos of the brooder?
What are you feeding?
What is the temperature in your brooder on the warm and cold side?
Please turn off red lights for photos, thanks!

I'm not sure what temp it's at cause I don't have a thermometer for it but my oldest chick dosnt seem to have any problems with it ( she's just under 2 weeks)

I got them from a outdoor pet shop place, I'm not sure if there shipped but they are hatched on site.

I feed them they stuff from the store they said to ground it up so it's smaller till there about 4 weeks

As I'm new to having fresh baby chicks I'm kinda lost

Pictures of the feed/Bag? Chick food doesn't really need to be grounded up.

Put your hand under the lamp, if it burns abit, it's too low?

Hatched on site, so probably shipped eggs, or they have a near by farm.
