baby stuck?

I have one chick that has a foot out the big hole he made. He's been struggling for over an hour and has gotten nowhere. Do I help him or not?

Also, how crowded is too crowded? I have 5 hatched now and it seems like shells and chicks are everywhere.

I'd help him out. Slowly peel away tiny bits of shell. If you see any blood, stop immediately.

I would remove chicks as soon as they are relatively dry. Sometimes the chicks kick the eggs that are trying to hatch and pips end up face down.
