I have 9 turkeys(4 Males 5 Females). They were supposed to be broad breasted bronze but it turns out they are a heritage bronzes. Which is fine my Christmas turkey dinner had just been postponed until an Easter turkey dinner. I had everything planned out. My wife and daughters were all terrified of them and annoyed that the free range birds did not understand that while they looked cool perched on the deck railing their poop was not so cool. But (because there is always a but) on my wife's birthday she had a little more wine than usual and she decided she wanted to pet a turkey and figure out what a snood feels like. Long story short she now loves the turkeys and doesn't want to invite them to dinner anymore. Again, fine we have the land to let them free range on 3/4 of an acre but my question is. Can I make a bachelor pad for three males and have one male with the hens? Or are the boys going to tear each other up regardless. I have read that bachelor pads work with cockerels/roosters as long as they can't see the females. But turkeys are not chickens so any advice would be great. Thank you all.
